The Final Years

In 1938 Ford was slowed by a stroke, but still maintained control of his company because he did not trust his son Edsel. During World War II his opinions did not change, however eventually he gave a lot to the war effort. After the war, Henry II, his grandson took over Ford Company. Henry Ford died in Dearborn on April 7, 1947.
